Lifelong learning and the new reality of multiple careers

Debate on the issues of lifelong learning and the new reality of multiple careers
5.30pm, 10 March, 2008
at 1 London Bridge

The discussion will be introduced by Dr Mary Chadwick of PrimeTimers. Panel members will include: Chris Ball, Chief Executive, The Age Employment Network (TAEN), Siân Harrington, Editor, Human Resources magazine, Stuart Lindenfield, Head of Transition Services, Reed Consulting, and Dr Juliet Webster, Technical Director of ECOTEC.

With secure lifetime work for a single employer a dwindling memory, who is responsible for the new reality of multiple careers, often crossing sectors? What wider responsibilities do employers have towards their workforce and society? Can groups disadvantaged in the traditional workplace — especially women and older workers — benefit from this new world, or will they fall further behind?
