Providing money for capacity building alongside the grants it gives for specific projects, is one the innovations to come out of the Department for Education (DfE).  Influenced by its experience with the Youth Sector Development Fund (YSDF), a £100m capacity building programme, the DfE has offered its new strategic partners the chance to get an additional 10% of their grant to spend on support that will make them more sustainable and efficient.

To get the extra funding, the charities had to provide evidence of a thorough organisation diagnostic (ODT) and Primetimers, through its association with the YSDF partnership, provided the ODT for 14 of the successful organisations. You can read more about our expertise with ODTs.
