DEMAND
FOR INTERIM INCREASES IN THIRD SECTOR
September
2009
As
the recession continues to put a constraint on budgets and funding for
third sector organisations, the demand for high calibre, short-term expertise
to plug staff and skills gaps or to manage a period of change, has increased.
With this in mind, PrimeTimers has produced a dedicated guide to interim
management within the third sector.
"In
the past twelve months we have seen a 30% increase in requests for interim
managers from third sector organisations" said Brent Thomas, Director
of PrimeTimers. "This reflects a growing awareness that there
are times when it is necessary to bring in specific skills to ensure consistency
and an effective response to a challenging market."
Designed
to answer the key questions that charities and not for profit organisations
ask about employing an interim manager, the guide covers all aspects from
identifying which problems can be solved by using an interm, to benefits
and tips on how to manage and get the best out of this type of expertise.
As
a successful social enterprise itself, PrimeTimers has been finding interim
solutions since 2002, and has built a network of highly skilled executives
with diverse backgrounds in the private, public and third sector, who
have chosen a new career path as interims in the nfp sector.
